Are you looking to take the first step towards working in diving as a career? Your adventure into the professional levels of recreational diving begins with the PADI Divemaster program. Working closely with a PADI Instructor, in this program you'll expand your dive knowledge and polish your skills to the professional level.
PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities, and qualifies you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers. The PADI Divemaster is the prerequisite for the PADI Assistant Instructor and PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor certifications.
During the PADI Divemaster program, you'll learn dive leadership skills through both classroom study and independently. You'll perform in-water techniques and stamina exercises, as well as train with exercises that will increase your organisational and problem-solving skills and help others improve their diving. You will put this knowledge into action through a structured integration period or a series of practical training exercises.
As you progress through your Divemaster course, you'll expand your dive knowledge, refine your dive skills and build your confidence. Then, as a PADI Divemaster, you'll use these attributes to guide, mentor and motivate other divers and enjoy the joy of watching them be transformed by the majesty of the underwater world.
To take this course you must:
Be 18 years of age
Be a PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or hold an equivalent certification from another training organisation).
Be a PADI Rescue Diver (or hold an equivalent certificate from another training organisation).
Have Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care course (or be qualified in CPR and first aid training from another training organisation) completed within the last 24 months.
Have at least 40 dives at the start of the course and 60 when certified.
Be fit to dive and submit a Medical Statement (PDF) signed by a physician within the last 12 months.
