ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVER
The Advanced Open Water Diver course helps you increase your confidence and build your diving skills so you can feel more comfortable in the water.
It's a great way to get more dives under your belt while continuing to learn under the supervision of your PADI Instructor.
The knowledge and skills you'll acquire on the Advanced Open Water Diver course vary depending on your interests and adventures, but include: Practical aspects of deep diving, physiological effects of deep diving, more ways to use your underwater compass, how to navigate using fin strokes, visual references and timing and how to best use your dive computer and electronic recreational dive planner (ePIRTM) and much, much more, depending on the Adventure Dives you choose.
You will polish your skills by doing five adventure dives, namely:
Underwater navigation (compulsory)
Deep diving (typically anywhere between 18-30 metres/ 60-100 feet mandatory)
Plus a sampler of three Adventure Dives of your choice.
To take this course you must have:
PADI Open Water Diver (or a certification from another training organisation that qualifies you)
15 years of age (12 for Junior Advanced Open Water Diver).
